Privacy Policy
Last updated October 21, 2026. Operated by Creation Creatures LLC.
This policy explains how Class Painter ("we", "our") handles information used to provide its online drawing, trivia, and teacher classroom tools at classpainter.com. It applies to teacher accounts, classroom participants, and visitors. This page describes the application as currently designed; service-provider systems may separately process technical information under their own notices.
Who uses Class Painter
Independent drawing can be used without a Class Painter account. Teachers and other adult educators can create accounts for optional classroom-management features. Students can join teacher-managed sessions using a class code and a name or nickname without creating an account, giving an email address, or using Google Sign-In.
Class Painter's Google teacher sign-in option is intended for educators, not for student account creation. Teachers should direct students to the class-join flow, use non-identifying nicknames where practicable, and avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information.
Information collected
- Teacher account: a verified email address, an authentication-provider user identifier, account status, subscription and access status, and class and teaching-library details. If a teacher chooses Google Sign-In, the Google/Clerk authentication flow may provide identity information such as email and profile details needed for sign-in. Class Painter's server retrieves the verified email from Clerk; it does not require access to Gmail or Google Drive to operate.
- Teacher-saved materials: uploaded or saved CSV question banks, class/section names, saved tests and activity settings, artwork prompts, saved background/clipart images and their names/categories/packs, lesson asset selections, and other teaching-library information chosen by the account holder. For My Assets, SVG clipart and a teacher-selected PDF page are converted to a static image in the teacher’s browser; the original SVG/PDF document is not uploaded to that library.
- Classroom activity: class codes; submitted student names or nicknames; answers, scores and participation; artwork and drawings submitted to a live class; student voting and teacher moderation decisions; and short-lived access/rejoin tokens. Some information is visible to the class teacher and, during classroom activities, to other participants as permitted by that activity. Artwork selected for in-class viewing or voting should not be treated as confidential from those participants.
- Subscription administration: billing and US service addresses entered directly into Stripe-hosted pages; Stripe customer/subscription references, payment and renewal statuses, billing dates, refund/dispute flags, and related transaction records. Card details are entered into Stripe-hosted checkout and billing pages, not Class Painter's own card fields.
- Operational information: login/session identifiers, security events, error and request information, and basic device/network details that are technically processed by Cloudflare, Clerk, Stripe, and browsers to provide the service, troubleshoot issues, and protect accounts.
How information is used
We use this information to verify teacher identity, manage access, deliver classroom quizzes and drawing sessions, let teachers retrieve materials, calculate scores, support class moderation and deletion, handle subscriptions, respond to support or deletion requests, and maintain security and reliability. We do not use student classroom records or Google sign-in information for targeted advertising or sell student information to advertisers or data brokers.
Google sign-in
Google Sign-In is optional for teachers. Teachers may use email verification-code sign-in instead. Google handles its own authentication screens, and Clerk manages the application sign-in session. The Google consent screen identifies Class Painter and the data requested. We aim to request only the basic identity scopes needed to sign in (such as openid, email, and profile); any proposed additional Google permissions must be reviewed and disclosed before they are introduced. No access to Gmail messages or Google Drive files is required for Class Painter's teacher login.
Storage and service providers
Class Painter uses Clerk for teacher account authentication, Cloudflare Workers and associated storage for classroom and account information and submitted artwork, and Stripe for subscriptions and payment processing. These companies process information to perform their services; their separate privacy statements apply to information processed directly by them. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations used by these providers. We may disclose relevant information when required by law, to protect users and the service, or to investigate abuse.
Classroom access and sharing
Student records and submitted artwork are associated with teacher-managed classrooms, not public galleries. Students enter a class using a code; teachers can admit or remove participants and delete class records. Teachers should share class codes only with the intended group. Class activities can include in-class artwork display, voting, and winner announcements. Teachers are responsible for choosing suitable names, prompts, and classroom materials and following their school or family consent requirements.
Teachers may select specific saved backgrounds and clipart for a lesson. Admitted participants can retrieve those attached images during the active session; they cannot browse the teacher’s full asset library. Copies placed in artwork may be included in students’ chosen downloads and teacher submissions. Deleting a library asset prevents future retrieval through a lesson link, but cannot erase copies already downloaded or included in artwork.
Data retention
- Temporary classroom sessions: the live class has a limited lifetime. Student score records are scheduled for deletion about 30 days after they are recorded, and submitted artwork about 30 days after upload. Expiration dates may differ within a class; File Manager shows the relevant deadlines.
- Teacher teaching library: saved CSV question banks, reusable class/test settings, saved backgrounds/clipart images and their categories/packs, and related teaching materials may remain in the teacher account until individually deleted or the account is deleted; the end of a subscription does not automatically delete them.
- Independent artwork: artwork created without submission can remain in the browser while the page or browser data remains; users should save downloads to their own devices. We do not promise permanent storage for unsaved browser artwork.
- Operational and payment records: providers and legal/accounting obligations may require other retention periods, including billing, fraud-prevention, security, and backup records. A deletion request may not erase records that must be kept by law or that independent service providers retain for lawful purposes.
Deletion, access, and requests
Teachers can download available classroom materials and saved question banks, remove individual student records or entire classrooms, and request account deletion through the Teacher account controls. Account deletion first needs to resolve linked recurring billing; failures may require support and a retry rather than silently erasing an active billed account. Classroom data can also expire on its scheduled date.
Students and parents who want a classroom record or submission removed should first contact the teacher supervising that session, who can use its deletion controls. For assistance with an account, access, correction, privacy concern, or deletion request, email support@classpainter.com. Please do not email student health records, passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive information.
Children and schools
Class Painter is intended for supervised classroom and creative learning. Student class participation does not require accounts or Google Sign-In. Class Painter has its own responsibilities under applicable privacy laws; a teacher checking a box does not transfer those responsibilities away from us. Schools or districts considering classroom use should contact us to discuss data practices, required school authorization, notices and consent, and any needed agreement before sharing protected student records. School-authorized consent on behalf of parents is limited to qualifying educational uses; it cannot authorize unrelated commercial uses. If you believe a child has provided inappropriate personal information, contact us at support@classpainter.com.
Security
We use authenticated access checks for teacher-account records, time-limited classroom information, and service-provider authentication and payment systems. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep classroom codes and account access details private, use appropriate security settings on your devices, and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.
Changes
If our information practices materially change, we will update this policy and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required. The date near the top identifies the latest version.
